/24-7PressRelease/ -- Governor Ted Strickland accompanied by U.S. Rep. Charlie Wilson, D-Ohio, among others were given an office tour and presentation on Modular Security Systems and the patented Modular Access Control (MAC) Portal. The Governor visited the office to learn about MSSI and to discuss the importance of the educational system in Ohio and how that attributes to the success of many businesses in the area.
Rob and Dave Slagel, co-presidents of the five year old company that has helped create 56 jobs in two states and does business around the globe, said having access to a talented, educated workforce has allowed them to expand their business. MSSI has earned its niche in the market place by converting shipping containers and turnstiles into modular access control systems for security purposes. The modular access control (MAC) Portals have been implemented by the military in Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia and for nuclear plants, power plants and oil refineries in the United States.
Over the past 5 years Modular Security Systems has grown at a significant rate and in 2009 customer demand required that their manufacturing facility be tripled in size. The influx of new customers aided by a skilled sales and marketing staff has lead to the creation of 20 manufacturing jobs.
"This type of business expansion is only possible through education," Strickland said Wednesday after a short presentation and touring the company's office. "There is a significant potential for growth and economic development in Ohio. It's requiring bright, well-prepared educated individuals. I believe Ohio has everything that is needed to be an economic success story."
