Mun-Koo Kang Recognized by Marquis Who's Who for Excellence in Education

Dr. Kang is a leader in English education in Republic of Korea and has served as vice president of the English Teachers Association in Korea since 2008



    GONGJU-SI, REPUBLIC OF KOREA, September 22, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mun Koo Kang has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Since 2008, Dr. Kang has served as vice president of the English Teachers Association in Korea, enabling Korean students to continue supporting his country's growth and interaction with the international community. He is an award-winning educator, concurrently serving as a researching professor and former vice dean of the College of Education at Kongju National University. Dr. Kang's latest research has to do with analyzing 'the relationship of English present perfect tense and the Korean past suffix in terms of Klein's Topic Time.' He is a representative author of High English 1 textbook based on 2015 Revised English Curriculum and a representative author of EBS CSAT English Complete in 2016, 2017, 2018.

Born in the city of Gongju in the Chungcheongnam-do province of Republic of Korea, Dr. Kang served to the rank of sergeant with the Korean Army and studied with Kongju National University to earn a Bachelor of Arts. He attended Korea University to earn a Master of Arts, and completed a PhD from Hallym University. Dr. Kang has been a career educator, particularly of high school English, and was recognized for his contributions to CSAT development with a 2013 Award from the Korean Ministry of Education. Further, he served as vice dean of the college of education at Kongju National University from 2015 to 2016, and continues to produce research as a member of the institution.

Dr. Kang is an innovator in the field, and has produced papers on American television programming, ontological studies of language, and sociological studies of movie English on Korean students. His work constantly seeks to improve methods of teaching to students of all ages, whether through popular culture or rigorous scientific analysis. To further that end, he has conducted studies on technological learning solutions as well as psychological testing methodology.

For his dedication to the English language in Republic of Korea, Dr. Kang was honored with Best Paper Awards by the Convergent Research Society Among Humanities, Sociology, Science, and Technology in 2014 and 2015. He is the recipient of a 2014 Excellent Researcher Award from Kongju National University and a 2010 Appreciation Award from the English Teachers Association in Korea. In his free time, Dr. Kang further improves his knowledge of western culture by enjoying major league baseball, playing billiards, and driving. He is married to a high school biology teacher, and is proud of his sons, one of whom is a Korean Air Force Pilot and the other a student at Oriental Medicine University. Dr. Kang has a beautiful daughter as well, who is studying in high school.
