    /24-7PressRelease/ - PHILADELPHIA, PA, June 13, 2008 - The Independence Visitor Center, in conjunction with The Association to Preserve the Tradition and First Class Entertainment, will present various live artists, bands and multi-cultural entertainers who will perform a variety of music genres such as oldies, jazz, blues, Motown, American classic, soft rock and reggae.

This is just one of many free events and exhibitions taking place at the Independence Visitor Center this summer. Also at the Center is a special photographic exhibition of the archeological discoveries at the President's House Site, home to Presidents Washington and Adams from 1790 - 1800 when Philadelphia was the nation's capital. The exhibit offers visitors another opportunity to see the unexpected discoveries found in 2007, including the original wall foundations for the kitchen basement and a bow window that may have been a prototype for the White House Oval Office.

Other summer activities hosted by the Center include:
• "Children's Art Exhibit", in conjunction with Fleisher Art Memorial, featuring the artwork of 10-year-old children—their impressions of Matisse paintings. These bright paintings on 3 foot square brown paper will be rotated bi-monthly. Coming June 2008.
• "Sweet Freedom: An audible, edible taste of the Declaration of Independence" (July 3 at 12 p.m.);
• "Peter Nero and the Philly Pops! Perform on Independence Mall" (July 3 at 8:30 p.m.);
• "Happy Birthday America!" (July 4 at 12 p.m.);
• "Freedom and Family Fun", a day of activities (July 5 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.)

**Music on the Mall will be kicked off by a private reception at Independence Al Fresco.
Your Invitation is enclosed.**
