WOODLAND HILLS, CA, May 18, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Music publishing companies do not usually help songwriters and artists create music videos, but Golosio Publishing (www.golosio.com) has a different attitude so the Los Angeles firm has just launched a new production for the song "Smokescreen" by John Scott G (formerly The G-Man).

"This song is a groove tune that is modern and retro at the same time," states Golosio production manager Brian Forest. "'Smokescreen' is like Gorillaz meets Booker T & The MGs, or maybe like Gnarls Barkley meets The Ventures, so we wanted the video to show a wide variety of images."

The music video incorporates images from several continents and many decades, and features dancers, aircraft, whips, animals, holiday destinations, statues, electronic devices, time-lapse photography, and an editing approach that blends the concepts of Eisenstein and the art movement known as Dada. "That's a lot for a three-minute video to handle," notes Forest, "and it's an eye-popping and 'anything goes' approach, but the song is so bouncy that viewers are just carried along for the ride."

Searching for a term that describes the wild video, several people at Golosio have made suggestions. "The New Psychedelia" is one idea. "Motion Collage" is another. The term that the artist likes best is "Crazy Cuts" but this one isn't appreciated as much by the people at FookMovie, the company that produced the video.
