An internationally renowned voice in the field of nuclear energy, Mr. Schneider works as an independent international analyst on energy and nuclear policy with Mycle Schneider Consulting. An accomplished author, he has written numerous publications on safety, proliferation and economic trends of the nuclear industry, and is convening lead author and publisher of the World Nuclear Industry Status Report (WNISR), a yearly report that explores the global challenges facing the nuclear power industry. He is also the co-editor of "International Perspectives on Energy Policy and the Role of Nuclear Power," which was published in 2009. He contributed chapters for a number of books, including "Nuclear Power's Global Expansion: Weighing Its Costs and Risks" (2010) and "Reframing Urban Energy Policy-Challenges and Opportunities in the City Seoul. He is noted for his numerous commentaries on the implications of the 2011 Japanese nuclear accidents.

For 30 years, Mr. Schneider has advised members of the European Parliament on energy issues. He has provided evidence and held briefings at national parliaments in 15 countries and at the European Parliament. Throughout his career, he has given lectures and held teaching appointments at over 20 universities and engineering schools in 10 countries. Mr. Schneider has provided information and consulting services to a large variety of clients, including the European Commission, European Parliament's General Directorate for Research, the Oxford Research Group, the French National Scientific Research Council (CNRS), the French Institute for Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety (IRSN), the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the Heinrich-Boll-Foundation, Greenpeace International, International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW), UNESCO, and the Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF). He also acted as a consultant to numerous radio and television programs, including for a recent landmark ARTE documentary on nuclear terrorism.

Mr. Schneider has advised on nuclear policy for the French environment minister's office, the Belgian minister for energy and sustainable development and the German environment ministry. In 2010 and 2011, he acted as lead consultant for the Asia Clean Energy Policy Exchange, an ECO-Asia initiative that focused on developing a policy framework to boost energy efficiency and renewable energies. A founder of the energy research and consulting group, WISE-Paris, he served as the director for 20 years.

Mr. Schneider serves as a founding board member and spokesperson for the International Energy Advisory Council (IEAC), and as the coordinator of the Seoul International Energy Advisory Council that advises the Seoul Metropolitan Government. He is a member of the International Panel on Fissile Materials (IPFM), based at Princeton University.

In recognition of his contributions to the energy industry, Mr. Schneider has been featured on numerous television and radio stations, as well as in electronic and print media. He has been selected for inclusion in a wide range of honors publications, including Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, and Who's Who in the World. Mr. Schneider was previously selected to receive the Right Livelihood Award by the Right Livelihood Award Foundation in 1997. During this time, he was recognized for serving to alert the world to the unparalleled dangers of plutonium to human life.
