/24-7PressRelease/ - Princeton, NJ, September 13, 2008 - NAFA is proud to announce that the upcoming Canadian Fleet Management Seminar is completely sold out. Fleet managers from all across Canada and the United States will gather in Montreal September 14-16 for an intensive review of the nuts and bolts of what it takes to run a fleet management department. The event marks the first time NAFA has offered the seminar in both English and French.

NAFA Fleet Management Association is well respected for its educational programs. The Association provides training for those new to the industry through its Fleet Management Seminars; offers the most popular and significant fleet management certification designation through NAFA's Certified Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM) program; and is introducing an advanced course this year with the Advanced Fleet Management Seminar. The last Canadian Fleet Management Seminar, held in Toronto in June 2006, attracted fleet professionals from all across the country. Designed to meet the diverse, changing needs of fleet managers, it will address concerns pertinent to the Canadian fleet manager in a classroom environment. Topics will include: policies and procedures; acquisition and disposal; fleet organization and responsibilities; maintenance management and risk management.

According to Julie Furlotte, CAFM, NAFA Vice President for Canada, the NAFA Canadian Fleet Management Seminar will be offered every other year. "We've decided to alternate with having our NAFA Canadian Conference one year and the seminar the next," she explained. "If the demand is there, and we have the resources to do it, it could become an annual event. Registrations, thus far, are from all over the country. I think Montreal has proven to be an attractive location, particularly since the seminar will be offered in two languages."

NAFA's Canadian Fleet Management Seminar is designed for fleet managers with three years or less experience; seasoned professionals looking for a refresher course; assistants to fleet managers and administrators; finance or purchasing directors; safety and/or risk department supervisors; in-house maintenance facility managers and CAFM participants. Attendees who are currently enrolled in the CAFM program may take their CAFM exams immediately following the seminar on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at the Four Points by Sheraton Montreal Centre-Villein in Montreal, Quebec.

Participants will leave with their own binder of materials containing over 400 pages including printouts of presentation slides, sample forms on policy and procedure, valuable charts to help with lifecycle cost analysis, informative articles and lists of terminology. This compilation, along with the participant's own notes from the seminar, will create a powerful reference and learning tool to be used over and over again.

"I am most pleased to finally be able to offer our French speaking colleagues an educational seminar in French," said Furlotte. "This is long over-due. I hope it leads us to other opportunities in other languages and countries. The possibilities are endless in our global environment!"
