Napa's Top Winemakers Gather for a Charitable Cause at the 5th Annual Ultimate Wine Event in Downtown Manhattan Beach

MUCHO, ROCK'N FISH, and SHADE HOTEL of Manhattan Beach will host their Fifth Annual Charity Wine Event on Sunday, April 20, 2008 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Owners and winemakers from over 50 prestigious vineyards such as Grgich Hills, Opus One, Ceja Vineyards, PlumpJack, Quintessa, Staglin Family and Silver Oak will be in attendance with their finest varietals and vintages at Shade Hotel. Proceeds from the tasting will be donated to benefit Manhattan Beach Middle School.

An assortment of decadent hors d'oeuvres provided by Mucho, Rock'N Fish, and Zinc Lounge of Shade Hotel will complement this tasting. Mucho will sample tastes off their aperativos menu like the Mucho Nachos, Taquitos Polluelo, and Elot Dulce. Rock N'Fish will feature samples of their signature dishes such as New Orleans BBQ Shrimp, Rock'N Crab Cakes and their famous New England Clam Chowder. And, Zinc Lounge will serve up their award-winning small plates, which include mini burgers, Ahi tartare, wasabi cream cones, and grilled marinated lamb chops.

In addition, a silent and live auction with prizes such as exclusive trips to winery chateaus, private tours, barrel tastings, and other one-of-a-kind items will be available for bidding.

This popular annual fundraiser attracts California's top winemakers and winery owners, who come together to enjoy a weekend of work and pleasure in Downtown Manhattan Beach. Michael Silacci, winemaker at Opus One had this to say about the event, "The Ultimate Wine Event is a perfect blend of the Manhattan Beach and winemaking communities. Every year I look forward to seeing friends enjoying food and wine under the Shade. Michael Zislis continues to be a contagious supporter of the Manhattan Beach Middle School."

The goal of Michael Zislis, the driving force behind The Ultimate Wine Event and proprietor of the sponsoring businesses, is to make this event a fun-filled and enjoyable evening for participants, guests, and winemakers, while raising funds to support the local school.
