WINTHROP, MA, October 19, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Have you ever wondered what it's really like to sail around the world or even do Slocum's Wake?

Well, on October 27th Nat and Betsy Warren-White will share lots of stories and photographs of their adventure "Sailing in Slocum's Wake: Round the World in Five Years". Their voyage eventually took nearly 5 years to complete and along the way they encountered challenging weather, visited with some extraordinary people in amazing places and with the help of more than 50 crew including his son Josh (named after Joshua Slocum). By the time they returned to Maine on June 17, 2011 they had sailed across more than 30,000 miles of open water.

Their story begins on October 21, 2006, when Nat and Betsy Warren-White boarded their 43ft Cutter "Bahati" in South Freeport Maine to circumnavigate the globe via the "Coconut Milk Run". Along the way they encountered challenging weather and visited some extraordinary people and amazing places.

For more information about their recent Atlantic crossing from So Africa to Barbados visit their blog at http://www.bahati.net.

Pelagic Sailing Club's mission is to promote safety on the water, seamanship sailing, and good fellowship.

It's a great way to test the waters with a variety of boats if you're looking to buy a boat, otherwise crewing can be a lot of fun as well. Thirty-five percent of Pelagic's members are boat owners, the other 65% are crew. "As you can see," says Coles, "the percentage of crew to boat owners is high, so the club is looking for new boat owner applicants. Plus, it's an excellent way to meet other like-minded boaters."
