National Association of Professional Organizers Washington, DC, Metro Chapter Announces Keynote Speakers & Presenters for 2009 Regional Conference for Professional Organizers
NAPO-WDC announces several well recognized speakers and presenters for the 11th Annual Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference for Professional Organizers, including Julie Morgenstern, Dr. Meggin McIntosh, & Krista Green.

    WASHINGTON, DC, September 03, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The National Association of Professional Organizers, Washington, DC- Metro Chapter (NAPO-WDC), the central resource in the DC Metro area for organizing professionals, is pleased to announce several well recognized speakers and presenters for the 11th Annual Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference for Professional Organizers (MARCPO). This day-long event, titled "Broadening Your Vision: Expand. Exceed. Excel.," will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel & Executive Meeting Seminar Center in Bethesda, Maryland on Saturday, October 17, 2009.

The Opening Keynote Speaker is author, speaker, TV show host, and entrepreneur, Krista Green. Krista was named by Calgary Inc. magazine as one of their "Top 40 Under 40" outstanding young business professionals. Krista's first company, Organized for Life, went on to become the first professional organizing franchise system worldwide - and the first employer in the industry in Canada, with three locations - in Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto. A noted speaker and coach in the organizing industry, Krista released a 4-Disc Audio Program for Professional Organizers entitled How to Grow, Brand, and Market Your Organizing Business and Sell Your Organizing Services in spring 2008. A Silver Leaf Member of Professional Organizers in Canada for 7 years, Krista was a POC National Board Member (Director of Marketing & Brand Development) for two terms, was Chapter Chair for Western Canada, and was nominated for outstanding achievement in the field of Professional Organizing as a finalist for the prestigious POC Harold Taylor Award in 2008.

Dr. Meggin McIntosh, "The Ph.D. of Productivity," has through her company, Emphasis on Excellence, Inc., has energized the momentum of thousands of professionals who want to become more productive. She does this through seminars and workshops on time, paper, information and life management. In addition, Meggin consults with individuals in their offices to ensure their organization and productivity in the work environment. She also publishes several no-cost weekly ezines subscribed to by professionals around the world. While a professor and administrator at the University of Nevada, Reno, Dr. McIntosh won numerous teaching awards—at the college, university, state, and national levels. In December 2003, she left academia to focus full time on her company's mission of changing what people know, feel, dream, and do. Dr. McIntosh, with her humor and wealth of practical knowledge, shares ideas so that anyone can put them into practice immediately.

Joining our esteemed group is Erin Rooney Doland, Editor-in-Chief of Unclutterer.com, a website providing daily articles on home and office organization. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas, William Allen White School of Journalism, and her master's degree from Johns Hopkins University. She is a writer and organization consultant, and an active member of the National Association of Professional Organizers. In addition to her work at Unclutterer, Erin is a weekly columnist for Real Simple magazine's website. Her writing also has appeared in publications including Ready Made magazine, Real Simple magazine, CNN.com, and Woman's Day magazine. Erin's new book Unclutter Your Life in One Week, with foreword by David Allen of Getting Things Done fame, will be available at the MARCPO Bookstore exclusively for conference participants before its release to the general public in November.

Certified Professional Organizer , Lauren Halagarda is the owner of "The Organization Connection," a Professional Organizing and Productivity Consulting company serving the DC Metro Area. She trains founding entrepreneurs of fast-growth companies on how to to detox their inbox and regain control of their to-do list. Lauren helps them make sense of their BITS (belongings, information, time, and space) helps them to choose software to increase their efficiency and productivity. Lauren is a recipient of the prestigious NAPO Shining Star award for her work on the NAPO website redesign project and she was awarded 2009 Key Leader award from the NAPO-WDC. Lauren is Clear & SIMPLE Certified, an active member of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) and NAPO-WDC. She currently serves as the NAPO Website Chairperson and as Vice President of NAPO-WDC.

Julie Hall has many years of experience in working with older adults and their children in helping them distribute or dissolve a lifetime of accumulation. Julie is a member of the National Speakers Association, has become a natural guardian and advocate for seniors through her speaking engagements. She is a passionate and influential voice for senior rights and issues. Many of her presentations deal with the importance of making decisions about personal property before one becomes incapacitated or dies. She advises individuals as well as professionals about the worth of personal property so that informed and objective decisions can be made for its distribution. Julie's book, The Boomer Burden, is written for the boomer child as well as the aging parent to guide loved ones on how to appropriately handle their parents' belongings.

Ellen Kaminsky brings more than 35 years of business experience to her clients. She is an expert on how to successfully use networking to ensure business growth. In addition to developing effective messages, her clients learn how to build laser-focused client lists, determine where to look for those clients and how to engage others in the quest. Ellen's clients learn the art of leading a conversation so both parties win. She also stresses the importance of being a resource to everyone you meet. Ellen is well known in the greater Dulles area for the sheer number of business connections she's forged for others. Six years prior to forming her own successful consulting firm, Ellen served as the Director of Membership for the third largest Chamber of Commerce in the Washington-Baltimore area. She has interacted with thousands of businesses and is passionate about helping others learn how to use networking to build their business.

The Closing Speaker, Julie Morgenstern, has been dubbed the "queen of putting people's lives in order" by USA Today.
