National Draft Ben Carson for Presdient Committee Passes First Major Milestone

More than 200,000 Americans clamoring for Ben Carson to run for President!

WASHINGTON, DC, October 11, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On the eve of Dr. Ben Carson's speech to the Values Voter Summit in Washington, DC, the committee created to draft Dr. Carson as the Presidential nominee of the Republican Party in 2016, has passed a major milestone. More than 200,000 Americans have signed a petition "clamoring" for Dr. Carson to run for President of the United States. When Dr. Carson was asked about any Presidential aspirations he might have by New York Times writer Trip Gabriel, he responded, "Certainly if a year and a half went by and there was no one on the scene and people are still clamoring, I would have to take that into consideration. I would never turn my back on my fellow citizens." When a similar inquiry was made by FOX News host Greta Van Susteren, and by other news outlets, Dr. Carson left the door wide open to running.

Inspired by these responses, and his calm, reasoned response to the President of the United States while speaking at the National Prayer Breakfast in March of this year, the great-grandson of the famous march king, John Philip Sousa, IV, author and financial investment professional, and Vernon Robinson, a former City Council member of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, graduate of the Air Force Academy, and the son of a Tuskegee Airman, created the National Draft Ben Carson for President Committee in August of this year.

According to John Sousa, "The response to the creation of the Draft Committee has been nothing less than astounding. In addition to the 200,000 Americans who have signed petitions asking Dr. Carson to run for President, nearly 10,000 have donated to the National Draft Ben Carson for President Committee. More than $350,000 has been raised by the Super PAC via e-mail and traditional mail solicitations." Sousa said, "The Committee is on track to raise more than $1 million by December 31, 2013."

According to Sousa, "Much more than just raising money, the Draft Committee is actively working across the country to establish a network of political activists to make Dr. Carson the next President of the United States. Thanks to Campaign Director Vernon Robinson, the Committee is already at work in Iowa, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Tennessee, and California. The intent is to put together a grassroots effort second to none. The Committee will be using state-of-the-art technology to link our team together so that we will be an effective force when the Iowa Caucuses take place and when the presidential primaries commence."

"We believe that Dr. Carson is the right candidate for three reasons: First, he is the one candidate for President who will win. His appeal crosses all segments of American society. Raised in dire poverty in Detroit, Dr. Carson went on to become the Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins University at the age of 33. A recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, Dr. Carson is revered and respected by Americans of all races and backgrounds. Second, Dr. Carson is the one person who can bring healing and unity to our land. He is a man of great personal compassion who will bring Americans together instead of dividing them apart. He believes that unity is the strength of America. Third, Dr. Carson is an articulate advocate of the principles set forth by the Founders in the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution. He holds bone deep faith in the principles of limited government, and common sense, free market economics. He believes that Political Correctness is dangerous, and that morality and faith should have a prominent role in the public square. In short, Dr. Carson is the right man, at the right place, at the right time. And, from the overwhelming response that we have received to our appeals for support, it is clear that millions of Americans will rally to the cause of electing Dr. Ben Carson President of the United States."
