2011 BBB 2011 Torch Award Winner: National Pawn

/24-7PressRelease/ -- Better Business Bureau serving Eastern North Carolina is pleased to announce National Pawn as winner of its 2011 Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics. BBB Torch Awards were created to showcase ethical companies and charities in Eastern North Carolina that build trust, advertise honestly, tell the truth, remain transparent, and honor their promises. Spotlighting these companies and charities fits the BBB mission to be the leader in advancing marketplace trust.
BBB Torch Award entries were evaluated by an independent panel of judges comprised of volunteer business and community leaders in eastern North Carolina. The award was presented at the Annual Meeting of BBB Accredited Businesses held on January 18, 2012, at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary, North Carolina.
"National Pawn has not only established a stellar reputation for itself, but Bob Moulton has worked tirelessly at the national level to improve the reputation of the entire pawn shop industry by promoting the importance of customer service and ethical business practices," said Toby Barfield, president and CEO of BBB serving Eastern North Carolina.
The BBB Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics was presented to National Pawn for their commitment to upholding exceptional business standards that benefit their customers, employees, suppliers, shareholders and surrounding communities.

Founded by Moulton in 1987, National Pawn has grown from one to eight locations in Raleigh, Durham and Wilmington. Featuring modern, well-lit stores, National Pawn is not the stereotypical pawnshop. It was recently ranked into ninth place in the Top 100 North Carolina Small Businesses for 2010 by Business Leader Magazine. Moulton was also named the 2011 National Pawnbroker of the Year by the National Pawnbrokers Association.
