/24-7PressRelease/ -- Judy Brunner and Dennis Lewis, nationally recognized school safety experts, have been selected by the Region 20 Education Service Center in San Antonio, Texas to provide emergency response training for educators in south central Texas. The training is part of an 806,000. U.S. Department of Education REMS (Readiness and Emergency Management for Schools) grant received by Region 20. Edu-Safe has provided similar training for previous grant recipients including Davenport, Iowa and Macomb, Michigan. Lewis and Brunner are the authors of five editions of Problem Solving Tabletop Exercise books used by a number of the previous recipients of REMS grants. Tabletop exercises are recommended by the U.S. Department of Education as a preferred method of training for schools when practicing emergency response plans. Lewis is the Past President of the National Association of School Safety and Law Enforcement Officers and former Director of School Public Safety for the Springfield, Missouri Public Schools. Brunner is a career educator and widely read and published author on school security and safety.
