RALEIGH, NC, August 08, 2009
/24-7PressRelease/ -- Who are the best employers in North Carolina? They range from leading accounting and financial services companies, to health care and biopharmaceutical companies, to contract research and health care IT organizations, and even to a chain of family-owned convenience stores. They stretch across the Tar Heel state from Charlotte to Wilmington, encompassing multiple points in between.
NC Magazine, the official magazine of the North Carolina Chamber, has named ten companies as the Best Employers in North Carolina. These winners were determined in a highly quantitative process managed by Best Companies Group (BCG). The program also received the endorsement of the North Carolina Society for Human Resource Management (NCSHRM).
"On behalf of the North Carolina Chamber, I would like to congratulate the leaders and staff of these outstanding companies," said Sherry Melton, vice president of communications for the Chamber. "BCG informed us that the quality of the applications was very high, and that the winners constitute a very solid group of esteemed companies that continue to attract and develop high-quality employees."
As part of the evaluation process, BCG conducted a two-part workplace assessment comprised of an employer questionnaire and employee satisfaction survey. The employer questionnaire sought information on company policies, practices, benefits and demographics. The employee satisfaction results and analysis were broken down into eight core focus areas: leadership and planning, culture and communications, role satisfaction, working environment, relationship with supervisor, training and development, pay and benefits, and overall satisfaction.
Included as part of the registration fee, which ranged from $600 to $900 depending on the size of the company, each applicant received a customized, comprehensive workplace assessment. These types of studies can cost tens of thousands of dollars if contracted separately from consultants.
