TECUMSEH, May 19, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- When Betty Evans died after waging a long and valiant battle against cancer, her seven children and her husband, Dr. Ted Evans, were devastated. But Ted, Todd, Terri, Tyler, Travis, Tracie, and Trenton Evans were determined to take positive steps to honor their mother. Thus was born "All Betty's Children", a non-profit organization founded in Betty's memory and dedicated to "Comforting Families Confronting Cancer".
The fruits of the Evans family's efforts will culminate on Saturday, May 24, in the sponsorship of the inaugural Betty Evans Memorial Golf Tournament to be held at the Tecumseh Country Club in Tecumseh, Neb., with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The theme for this event is "Slice Cancer to the Rough" and will be a family-oriented day with activities for non-golfers as well. Former Husker football greats Tony Davis and Jerry Murtaugh have registered their foursome for this charitable occasion.
After the 18-hole, 4-person scramble, the Evans children will host a wine and beer tasting event from 6-9 p.m. at The Ramsey Family Fountain with the theme "Stomp Cancer Like a Grape", featuring the musical talents of local favorite, Daniel Christian.
Both events are open to the public and will have numerous raffle prizes and auction items including but not limited to Paul McCartney concert tickets, Cher concert tickets, sports memorabilia, and ticket vouchers from the Omaha Storm Chasers and Kansas City Royals.
