In developing the college, Neville was responsible for monitoring the work of architects, project managers and builders to ensure the facilities were completed on time, within budget and according to standards. During his tenure, Woodcrest was awarded numerous accolades and named one of Australia's leading institutions for e-learning, even becoming the first preparatory through 12th-year institution to feature an Apple Classroom of Tomorrow.

As one who believes education is key to advancements in his local community and abroad, Mr. Smith provides international consulting services for various institutions. Though much of his knowledge comes from real-world experience, Mr. Smith's credentials also include a postgraduate diploma in educational administration and a Bachelor of Education Studies from the University of Southern Queensland, as well as a teaching diploma from Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane. Prior to the late nineties, he was principal of a number of schools in Queensland and a support coordinator for as a many as 75 schools. He also established Springfield's TAFE, an institution for technical and further education, and a private school for indigenous girls.
