New Book of Pet Stories Will Make A Great Gift For All Ages

\"Unconditional Love - Pet Tales by the Humans Who Love them\" is a compilation of animal stories and anecdotes by author Avie Townsend and 17 other contributing authors.

/24-7PressRelease.com/ - "Unconditional Love - Pet Tales by the Humans Who Love them" is a compilation of stories and anecdotes by author Avie Townsend and 17 other authors located in the United States, Greece and Cape Town, South Africa.

The stories will make you laugh, bring you to tears, and educate you about proper pet care and things you may or may not know on the care and handling of furry or feathered creatures.

There are many stories about dogs and cats, horses and birds, and even one on chickens in the hen house. Each story has an accompanying photo or drawing of the animal featured.

"This book was almost two years in the making," Townsend said. "First I put out a call for submissions, then waited for stories to come back. I chose the most appropriate ones, edited them, alphabetized them, and sent them to the publisher. Next came galley corrections, releases and bios from the authors, and many headaches. But now that it's finished, I feel it's a labor of love."

"I am hoping the book will save the lives of many animals, because there are dangers out there that folks are unaware of," she added.

DK Dalton, author of Maggie's Song, said "This anthology gives the reader clear evidence that the compassion and love lived by St. Francis is still alive on this planet."

The book may be ordered through Barnes&Noble.com, Amazon.com, Booksamillion.com or at any Barnes and Noble store by ordering ISBN #1-933037-38-5. Or it can be ordered from the publisher by clicking on this link:

"Pet Tales will make a good Christmas gift for animal lovers, a great book for the bathroom (read a story while you wait, so to speak), or just a nice small coffee table book," Townsend said, adding "Remember to keep a box of tissues next to the book for wiping your eyes... some of the stories will make you laugh, and some make you cry."

She has also penned the novel Winter Mournings, a story of love, death and hope centered in Niagara Falls.

Townsend is former social editor and columnist for the Lockport, NY Union-Sun & Journal. She has had several short stories and anthologies published in national publications. Her second novel is in the hands of a publisher now, and she is working on a sequel to Mournings, as well as a fictional account of the famous Seven Sutherland Sisters, and a coffee table book on Newfane and Olcott to be released in April by Arcadia Publishing for its Images of America series.

Townsend worked part time for a veterinarian for two years, gathering information for the stories and articles she wrote on pet care.
