PUNTERS READY FOR NEW MIDWEEK POOL BETTING INNOVATIONS

/24-7PressRelease/ - December 23, 2006 - Racing punters can today start taking advantage of the first major innovation seen in midweek pool betting for years. New internet pool betting operation RaceO is launching its 50/50 game with a series of features that promise a range of exciting new betting options.

RaceO 50/50 will be run from Monday to Friday with a guaranteed minimum jackpot of 50,000 for a 50p stake, from Tuesday 26th December,(Boxing Day). Punters wanting to have a sneak preview of the game before then, can try it out on Tuesday 19th or Wednesday 20th.The new game introduces punters to three industry firsts.

It is the only pool bet currently available to punters for a minimum stake of less than one pound. It is the only midweek pool bet that groups the best races from all the day's meetings. It is the only pool bet that restricts fields to a manageable eight options by grouping all outsiders together as a single pick*.

Malcolm Boyle, pool betting expert and author of Tote Placepot Annual 2007, believes the bet has popular appeal: "With an attractive stake and big jackpots combined with a raft of new pool bet features, the new game demonstrates the kind of flexibility pool punters appreciate. In particular, the new 50/50 game with its low stake will prove very popular with players who value permutations."

Punters must identify the winner of all the day's eight races to knock over the jackpot or find six or seven winners for meaty consolation prizes.

The RaceO 50/50 game is the product of long term research and consultation programmes used by RaceO to create a stable of products that compare favourably with existing market options.

RaceO's new managing director Steve Soden says: "We've been working with experts and punters to modernise pool betting. A common theme has been the need to inject maximum innovation and flexibility. Our growing stable of games combines new features in terms of game place, race choice and stake size and rivals any other pool bet currently on the market."

Notes To our members

*RaceO uses Timeform to rank horses. All horses ranked outside the top seven are grouped together as outsiders and offered to punters as a single pick. In a race like the Grand National punters can have as many as 33 horses running for them in the race. Naturally this greatly reduces the odds against scooping the jackpot and gives punters a clear advantage.
