/24-7PressRelease/ -- The New Jersey Association of Nurse Anesthetists (NJANA) 70th Anniversary Meeting, to be held Oct. 9-11 at Dolce Seaview, outside of Atlantic City, features the latest in the field of anesthesiology, as well as ever-important state and national industry updates. The annual meeting brings together Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), which are advanced practice nurses specializing in anesthesia care. CRNAs practice in every setting where anesthesia is available, administer every type of anesthetic and provide care for every type of surgery procedure.
NJANA's 70th Anniversary Meeting will provide an opportunity for professionals dedicated to advancing the field of anesthesiology to earn up to 16 CE credits during this three-day educational meeting, while staying abreast of various matters impacting the anesthesiology profession. NJANA President Russell R. Lynn, CRNA, will shed light on 70 years of NJANA excellence during his state update and historical retrospective. The meeting's cocktail hours and breaks between sessions provide attendees with time to network with colleagues and share ideas.
Educational sessions begin on Friday, October 9 at 5 p.m. and continue throughout the weekend, concluding on Sunday, October 11 at 3:30 p.m.
NJANA's fall meeting will focus on:
· "The Business of Anesthesia: What Every CRNA Should Know," Larry Hornsby, CRNA, owner of one of the largest anesthesia staffing companies in the country and past president of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, will explore the future of healthcare, including cost containment.
· Cheryl Nimmo, CRNA, MSHSA, AANA Region 1 Director, will provide the latest updates from AANA.
· Nancy E. Kline, PhD, RN, CPNP, FAAN, will offer an informative "Overview of Evidence-Based Practice: How to Incorporate it in Clinical Practice."
· Andrew Teich, CRNA, The Mount Sinai Hospital, will discuss "New Approaches to Aspiration Pneumonia Prevention."
· Caleb A Rogovin, CRNA, MS, CCRN, CEN, will provide an informative session on rare, yet devastating "Post Op Vision Loss."
· John J. McFadden, Ph.D., CRNA, assistant professor of anesthesiology at Barry University in Florida, will conclude the three-day meeting with "What to do if you get sued," and "The Deposition."
