New Novel Explores the Intrigue of English Village Life

'Whoever said life in the countryside was boring couldn't have been more wrong; there's always a rural affair.' The second of the Drayton Beauchamp Series books looks at the stress and strain of living in an English small community.
HERTS, ENGLAND, April 04, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Author, Anna Hutton-North, has continued the theme of English village life in the second of her Drayton Beauchamp Series books. The book is entitled 'Rural Affairs' (226 pp, tpb GBP6.99) and looks at the stress and strain of living in a small community can bring to three friends.

'Whoever said life in the countryside was boring couldn't have been more wrong; there's always a rural affair.'

Anna drew on her own experience of living in a village to call upon inspiration for the novel. 'For many the thought of moving to the country is a dream. However for some women it is too claustrophobic, they don't feel comfortable having everyone knowing their business. For Alicia this was the reason she fled originally to London, while Matty feels her horizons have become limited by village life. The third friend, Chloe, can't find a man and blames it on her limited social circle. All of them are seeking happiness, but without really knowing where to look.'

What readers said about the book:
'It's a great read, fun, intriguing and well researched and it's great seeing the village community develop through the books. Looking forward to the next one!'

'It was pleasing to see that author hadn't lost the magic when it came to the second in the series. Definitely one for the girls - but if you like shopping, a bit of village gossip and are craving just a little romance at the moment then take a look at this book.'

Anna Hutton-North has written extensively for newspapers, trade journals and magazines and is the winner of the Stirling Cup for short stories.
