SkipTrips provides customers with access to hundreds of local skip companies online and then gets suppliers to bid for their work. Importantly, all skip suppliers are Environment Agency regulated and hold valid environmental permits so customers can be sure their waste is handled in the best possible way.
Instead of spending ages searching through a phone book and making calls to find a skip, customers list their
skip hire requirements on the site with one simple form. This details items such as skip size, numbers, types of waste, dates the skips are needed and even special requirements like waste reporting. Licensed
skip hire companies are notified immediately, allowing them to 'bid' for business. So unlike a traditional brokerage or price comparison site, SkipTrips puts the customer in control throughout and it's estimated this facility will provide up to 30% cheaper rates than sourcing a supplier independently.
Alongside the live quotes, customers can view a detailed business profile of the bidder and can choose whether to pick a supplier based on best price, quality ratings, location or sustainability credentials. All quotes will also shortly be accompanied by a '
carbon calculator' to show which supplier has the lowest carbon footprint for each job.
Further functionality to be added to the site in the next quarter that will further illustrate suppliers green credentials include enhanced supplier profiles to include waste to energy credentials and a live waste reporting template which updates details of how much waste a supplier has recycled.
