SPRINGFIELD, NJ, November 21, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- According to the 2010 census 35.8 million adults have a physical functioning difficulty. This is a result of a variety of factors such as disease, aging and developmental disorders. After watching her mother struggle with Mutliple Sclerosis, Rochelle Denning was determined to return the dignity of a simple daily task to individuals with her product EasyUndies (EasyUndies.net) .
Rochelle Denning knows what it is like to feel helpless to a loved one. Growing up she saw the many challenges her mother faced with Multiple Sclerosis; her mobility and dexterity were compromised so much so that simple, everyday task became difficult, including getting dressed. Denning desperately wanted to help make her mother's life easier, while helping her retain some dignity and independence. Years later, and after her mother's passing, she would spark an idea and bring to life a company that would help everyone with similar challenges - EasyUndies Medical Garments.
Denning took her memories of her mother and developed a passion and desire to help others. It all started with re-creating the simplest item that everyone seems to take for granted - underwear - but for those who struggle to take care of themselves in certain ways, it would mean the world; a return of dignity. EasyUndies Medical Garments helps individuals with all dexterity and mobility, or grasping challenges, including; arthritis, MS, Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, developmental disorders, stroke victims, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injuries, chronic disease and the typical aging process.
"It was really painful for me to watch my mother struggle with the simple everyday things that most of us take for granted," said Denning. "I wanted to do anything to make her life easier. Now, I can help make dignity and independence a possibility again for millions who deal with this challenge daily."
The Development, Features: See How It Works
One day, Denning dug out her sewing machine and started experimenting with designs; her husband's underwear was not safe! She would continuously get a new idea, reach for a pair, cut them up and make a new prototype. Over time, Denning's husband started hiding his underwear. But that didn't stop Denning from working until she perfected the design.
The key was the Quick Strips closures on each side of the garment, the primary feature that would make putting her product on and off so easy for people with dexterity and mobility issues. For Denning, it was important that an individual could easily put EasyUndies on whether they are standing, sitting or lying down. No more bending or balancing acts which increase risks of an individual hurting themselves. Most important was that they would be truly comfortable.
The next key feature was the Tabs at the top of the Quick Strips for individuals who have trouble grasping and pinching. Denning's design allows for one finger through the Tab Loop, pulling down and EasyUndies come right off.
Denning says that it is the memory of her mother that helps maintain her commitment and dedication to help others maintain their dignity and independence; she is the daily inspiration that makes EasyUndies.
"I'm really proud of EasyUndies and the way they will play a part in helping people maintain their independence and dignity. And, my husband is happy, too. He no longer has to hide his underwear from me anymore," said Denning.
EasyUndies come in a Women's Brief, Men's Brief, Boxer Shorts and Boxer Briefs and start at $17.99 for a two pack, and available at EasyUndies.net.
