The magazine will feature what's working today in marketing, advertising, public relations, direct mail, television, radio and the Internet. AVA will also provide in-depth coverage of emerging technology, trends, and news about the Hampton Roads advertising scene.
"Everywhere I turn I see such dreadful advertising it's almost heartbreaking," Dr. Porter said. "The average business owner is completely lost when it comes to marketing. They mimic their competition because they don't know what else to do. That's why small businesses are facing an advertising crisis and they don't even know it. With AVA Magazine, I plan to fix that. AVA Magazine, a highly targeted quarterly publication, will have an initial circulation of 20,000. Ninety-five percent of the issues will be direct mailed to local business owners and executives. AVA plans to distribute the balance of copies through newsstand sales and to hundreds of participants each month at AVA Marketing Group seminars.
