/24-7PressRelease/ - September 28, 2007 - We live today in a world of fierce competition. Unfortunately it is all too often a world in which we find ourselves unable to perform as we would like to. While we strive to be successful in both our personal and business lives, it is often all too apparent that we lack that 'magical something' we see giving others their winning ace card. Now however, help is at hand with a revolutionary new book 'Winning Companies; Winning People' by acclaimed author Professor Colin Coulson-Thomas which shows just how to adopt the winning ways of high-flyers.

The book which is published internationally this week by specialist publisher Policy Publications (www.policypublications.com) draws upon a research programme at the University of Lincoln that identifies critical success factors and winning behaviours in a range of important areas. The book summarises very clearly the differing behaviours of winners and losers and shows how some people are so much more effective than others when undertaking similar tasks in equivalent circumstances.

Colin Coulson-Thomas has served on a variety of private sector, public sector and voluntary sector boards, and has helped over 100 boards to develop their board and/or company performance. The book is based upon the author's continuing research programme, involving over 4000 organisations from small firms to major corporations, public bodies and voluntary organisations. Some 2000 of these companies have contributed to studies to identify critical success factors and winning behaviours for key business development activities.

"The findings are remarkably consistent across sectors, professions, corporate nationalities and different sizes of organisations. Areas examined range from communicating to visioning", said Coulson-Thomas. "Because most success factors are attitudinal and behavioural, investigating teams can distinguish the approaches of high performers or winners from the practices of low achieving losers."

'Winning Companies; Winning People' represents good news for people and organisations who would like to raise their game. The book provides a compendium of the differing approaches of winners and losers and examples of what can be done to help under-achieving people adopt the approaches of their more successful peers.
Prof. Colin Coulson-Thomas is an experienced chairman of award winning companies and Professor of Direction and Leadership at the University of Lincoln. He has advised directors in over 40 countries on how to improve performance and this book reveals the wealth of his expertise and know-how.

The book will prove invaluable to individuals, entrepreneurs, managers, coaches and consultants who will be able to use it to effectively identify losing behaviours and address the issue before it becomes a problem.

'Winning Companies; Winning People, Making it easy for average performers to adopt winning behaviours' by Colin Coulson-Thomas (236 pages; ISBN 978-1-872980-72-0) is available online from http://www.coulson-thomaspublications.com priced just 24.95 plus p&p.
