ORLANDO, FL, December 05, 2008
/24-7PressRelease/ -- New School Preparatory, an Orlando-based private school, is proud to announce its upcoming Winterfest on December 18, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Trinity Prep Auditorium. This event is a collaborative effort that allows all New School Preparatory students to participate in a performance which combines dance and musical selections from Broadway hits. Last year's show featured Italian Opera favorites.
The students are under the direction of their acclaimed music and drama director, Robin Jensen, who is the former founder of the Orlando Opera Company's children's opera and served as the musical director of Mad Cow Theatre. The event reflects the hard work and dedication of each New School Preparatory student.
At New School Preparatory, the belief is that a student's involvement in the arts teaches the value of discipline and teamwork and the benefits that come from these efforts. No matter the level of talent, Winterfest allows students the opportunity to emerge from the shadows and build confidence and poise. This experience transfers into the classroom setting by helping students build the confidence to present themselves in front of a group; to speak and present themselves in a professional and polished manner. The students also walk away with a cultural experience which exposes them to a wide range of music history, from classical to modern, which enriches their cultural heritage.
In past Wintefests, students have tackled ambitious works by such artists as Mozart, Puccini, Verdi, Gounod, Bizet, and Rossini.
Tickets are free to the public.
