New Scoliosis Exercise Equipment May Eliminate Bracing or Surgery

Dr. Brian Dovorany is challenging the current status quo of prescribing scoliosis brace treatment and standard physical therapy based exercises to patients with idiopathic scoliosis and replacing these with a new scoliosis exercise program.

LITITZ, PA, September 13, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Green Bay, Wisconsin - Dr. Brian Dovorany chair of the CLEAR Institute Education Board, (a non-profit scoliosis research think tank) is challenging the current status quo of prescribing scoliosis brace treatment and standard physical therapy based exercises to patients with idiopathic scoliosis and replacing these with a new scoliosis exercise program.

Recent research conducted by individual scoliosis rehabilitation clinics throughout the world have been analyzing data from the treatment of a new "scoliosis cantilever"TM developed by Dr Brian Dovorany. This particular piece of equipment holds a patent pending status by Dr Dovorany and is currently being evaluated by the US Patent department and over 30 clinics internationally. "The scoliosis cantilever is demonstrating very positive long term results with thoracic scoliosis, not only in halting progression, but in actually reversing the condition and decreasing the size of thoracic deformity as well as the rib rotation. In cases that are treated early normally considered the observation stage, we are seeing thoracic curvature nearly disappearing." states Dr Dovorany.

In a confusing time with Internet information freely flowing around the globe parents and patients with idiopathic scoliosis may want to consider a noninvasive early stage approach using this new type of neuromuscular retraining. Because the scoliosis patient is often exposed to the traditional treatment approach of observation, rigid bracing, and potentially fusion surgery they are missing a very important opportunity to potentially eliminate the condition and certainly stand a much better chance of succeeding when getting involved early on. "The scoliosis cantilever is a step in the right direction of providing patients with a less invasive and less costly care program to effectively treat the condition of scoliosis. "I have been using it for over 6 months with tremendous success'' says Dr Stitzel, a Pennsylvania scoliosis specialist practicing the CLEAR method.

Dr. Brian T. Dovorany attended the University of Wisconsin where he received his bachelor's degree in Pre-medical science before attending the Palmer College of Chiropractic where he earned his Doctorate in Chiropractic. While attending Palmer College, Dr. Dovorany received the clinical excellence award as an intern and was inducted into the Pai Tau Delta International Honor Society. Since graduating Dr. Dovorany has completed over 500 hours of post graduate training in bioengineering and spine rehabilitation. Dr. Dovorany has received the highest level of certification within the CLEAR institute and remains one of the few doctors capable of effectively handling larger scoliosis cases. Dr. Dovorany serves as chairman of the board of advisors for CLEAR Institute's postgraduate education department. Dr. Dovorany has written several articles on scoliosis and is one of CLEAR institutes head instructors and is credited with being one of the country's foremost experts in re-active neuromuscular reeducation programs for scoliosis.
