This line, dubbed Advanced Performance X (APX), focuses on technical innovation and smart design. The most technically advanced goggle ever offered by the company, the APX is a product of a design philosophy focused on technical innovation, minimalism, and premier quality.
"For several seasons now, we've been a leader in snow goggle technology for snowboarders and skiers alike," says founder Will Howard. Among the numerous technological innovations included in the APX line are armored frame ventilation, integrated dual lens ventilation, and an anti-fog treated inner lens. These technologies combine to improve visual clarity when outdoors in colder climates and eliminate a common source of frustration among winter sports enthusiasts.
"Fogging can be a big concern both in terms of performance and safety," notes Mr. Howard. "The strategically placed ventilation systems on the APX goggle combine with an anti-fog lens coating for greater visibility in any number of challenging environments. Our advanced design also enables maximum peripheral vision with Infinity Lens Technology, which completely eliminates the frame profile. Committed to developing its APX line, Dragon opened a research and development cabin at a 12,000 foot elevation in the San Juan Mountains in Colorado. At the cabin, product testers are able to try the goggles in a variety of technically demanding conditions. Their feedback went into product refinements that help the goggles perform better in harsh weather. The company's objective is to test its products in the harshest conditions possible so that its customers can feel confident in their gear regardless of the conditions or situation.
"Of course we're excited about the technical features of these goggles, the ones that help them perform better on the slope, course or trail," adds Mr. Howard. "But we also paid a lot of attention to the fit and ease of use. This is our first goggle that uses triple layer face foam with microfleece lining for better comfort during long-term wear. And we've made lens interchangeability as simple as possible, while still ensuring a sealed thermal boundary between both lenses for the protection a user really needs. The APX line is turning a lot of heads and is going to be the goggle of choice this winter season."
