New Software Helps Middle School Students Combat Bullying

Linxus, the student development software

"Research suggests that all forms of bullying peak in middle school," explains Co-CEO Ed Cross, "which is why I felt it was crucial for Linxus to address the topic of bullying."

INDIANAPOLIS, IN, June 10, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mobius Learning announced that next month it will launch Linxus, a software suite designed to help students succeed in middle school. One of the most intriguing and relevant topics Linxus covers is bullying.

Bullying is a complex issue that affects nearly half of all children in some way. According to a 2013 study by The Urban Institute, 41% of students reported being victims of physical bullying, while 45% reported being victims of psychological bullying.

Mobius Learning, creator of custom eLearning solutions, developed Linxus based on the premise that in order for children to do well in their core classes, they must be able to study well, be organized, be punctual, and function in a safe environment.

"Research suggests that all forms of bullying peak in middle school," explains Co-CEO Ed Cross, "which is why I felt it was crucial for Linxus to address the topic of bullying."

Linxus is composed of four courses: Academic Organization, Time Management, Study Skills, and Social Citizenship.

The course on Social Citizenship focuses on social skills for prospering in middle school. Students learn how to communicate effectively, solve problems, manage stress, build their character, deal with bullies and peer pressure, and employ cyber safety.

Linxus was crafted by instructional designers, software engineers, and graphic developers who combined the latest studies on child development with cutting-edge instructional design methodologies and multimedia principles to create an immersive learning environment that helps students develop skills that will last a lifetime.

Linxus features the latest gameplay mechanics to help engage learners, on-screen characters to help users connect to the content, comprehensive assessments to help teachers compare results, and interactive quizzes and strategies to help students easily retain and recall information.

Mobius Learning will unveil Linxus on Thursday, July 10, at the Elementary School Principles Conference & Exposition (NAESP) in Nashville, Tennessee. The software will be available online at a suggested retail price of $4.99 per student.
