/24-7PressRelease/ - UTICA, NY, April 29, 2007 - Pre-manufactured buildings are not an everyday component to most projects, so few outside the industry are fluent in their specs. Austin Mohawk is changing that with POINT CLICK SPECIFY, a web-based system designed to give architects an efficient method to specify custom pre-manufactured buildings (CSI 13129) and shelters (CSI 02875) in their construction design projects.

As a simple web-based spec service, this unique online system makes it considerably easier to include pre-manufactured building and shelter specs in project designs. It provides architects with access to structures that haven't always been so available in the past.

The POINT CLICK SPECIFY system is the first of its kind in the pre-manufactured building industry, allowing architects to quickly and easily populate spec sheets and develop custom CSI-quality downloadable specs and drawings online. The system provides drawings in 7 different popular CAD systems, including VectorWorks, MicroStation, Bricscad and Revit, covering 97% of all CAD operators' requirements.

"If a pre-manufactured building has a value of $15,000 and the cost of installation and site work is $20,000, architects simply can't afford to spend much time designing the structure," Austin Mohawk President John Millet said. "The POINT CLICK SPECIFY system makes it easy for them to get the custom solution they need without the large time commitment required in designing it themselves."

According to Millet, the system was designed to be simple enough so that even users who only use it on occasion can still quickly and successfully get online and complete the spec process.

Designers can access Austin Mohawk's home page at http://www.austinmohawk.com. From there, they can click on "specs and Cad" for one click access to the specifications and cad drawings for Austin's buildings. They can browse sample photographs to find the one that's the right fit for their application and select a building type by name. Once they've selected a particular building style, they're directed to a page that allows them to use drop-down menus to select their preferred building material, glazing, doors, HVAC, and standard or custom colors.

From within the system, designers can also make more advanced changes as necessary, like repositioning doors or windows to fit their particular application. There's also the option to make selections on an easy-to-print PDF for simpler specifications.

According to Millet, POINT CLICK SPECIFY also handles 3 important areas of Par 1.5 Performance Requirements: Third party approval, P.E. Stamp Requirements and ADA compliance.

Austin Mohawk and Company has been building quality aluminum, steel, and bullet resistant structures for nearly sixty years. From simple aluminum smoking/transit shelters or parking booths to steel ticket booths or bullet resistant guard shacks, Austin works with architects, engineers and facility managers to design and build customized structures for each specific situation.
