/24-7PressRelease/ - Tampa, FL, July 02, 2005 - By now you've probably heard of them, you may have seen one, and if you're lucky; you might have smoked one. But chances are, you don't understand them. They're called hookahs. Hookahs or narghiles originated in Turkey centuries ago and soon made their way into Arabic culture. In recent decades, hookahs have been slowly making their move into the western culture in small coffee shops around the United States. When one of these large water bong style smoking pipes find their way to the beach or a public park, they always turn heads and bring up questions.

"The problem we keep seeing is that everyone, including the police, see these as water bongs and relate them to doing drugs. Myself and a group of hookah connoisseurs decided to start building a public resource for people to educate themselves" says web site owner, Aaron Butts.

While most hookah retailers offer brief information about the products they sell, nothing currently exist as simply an information resource. That's why I-Hookah.com was formed. The site is a collection of historical and modern information that goes into great detail about the origin of Indian Hookahs, the modern day usage of the Egyptian Hookahs, and the always changing and forever innovative Modern / New Age Hookah. The goal of the site is to provide an easily accessible, non-commercial, web site to introduce the general public to this growing trend.

While the site does not officially endorse any commercial hookah web sites, they get their web space from one of South Florida's largest hookah and tobacco distribution companies. "When you go to I-Hookah.com, don't expect to see banners or flashy animations," Aaron points out, "we are there to educate the public and interest them in the hookah tradition."
