New York Fashion Week Has Stars of
All Kinds Behind the Scenes
"Movie Cameras Search for a New Kind of Star"

/24-7PressRelease/ - NEW YORK, NY, February 07, 2006 - New York Fashion Week seems to have a common thread on opening day. From the metallic fabrics on amazingly conservative new trends, to the Red Dress Collection featuring singing stars promoting the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute's awareness campaign, everything shines, including a new kind of light that this show has never seen.

Movie cameras are running in most peculiar places this year. Hollywood's "A Street Productions" is in New York, along with Producer Tony Smith and Director Dale Lewis as they research their new film "Rags" in association Tommy Hilfiger. They are observing fashion shows and investigating the fervor behind the scenes, as designers and models prepare for their time on the runway.

"Coming to New York for Fashion Week was the ultimate opportunity to develop our film completely." states Producer Tony Smith. "We feel this research essential for the positive portrayal of the fashion industry, its demands, its exhilaration and the passion that takes leading designers to the top."

However, this trip is more than just research for this team of Hollywood film makers. Not only do they hope to deepen the bond in the fashion industry, but they will be looking for the next "star" of their film as well.

"To make the film real for young designer hopefuls, we thought it necessary to find someone fresh and new to the film industry as well." explains Director Dale Lewis. "I love working with passionate people and bringing out the best in them. I think someone fresh will add a sense of authenticity to our characters."

Determined to experience the networking, the trends and generally get a complete overview of NY fashion week, will guide this team to prepare a film that reflects the dreams of the main character of "Rags". Smith and Lewis remark, "It will help bring her desire to become a successful fashion designer, no matter what obstacles to the big screen."
