Next Generation HR Solution for Generation X Y Boomer Employees

Research shows that at least in the area of work-life balance, Generations X, Y, and Baby Boomers share the same challenges. Using numbers from 2005, Statistics Canada reported in Spring of 2007 that "one-third of (31%) of Canadians aged 19-64 identified themselves as workaholics...65% worried that they do not spend enough time with family and friends".

It costs Canadian employers $billions annually on recruiting, turnover, and retraining. Many studies do not reflect the intangible costs to employers such as the loss of knowledge and disengaged employees. Companies need to become even more proactive in caring for their people.

Lack of time is a ubiquitous problem shared by most. It transcends generations. Lifestyle management services may prove to be the secret ingredient for employers looking to gain and maintain an edge in this labour market.
