The new manufacturing facility will bring a new future to the trucking industry and to this local community.

    LONGVIEW, WA, December 22, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Let's Go To Work Together...

"Today I am thrilled to announce 188 new manufacturing jobs coming to Longview, Washington," President of Nimble Trailers Todd Wessels said. "A new manufacturing facility to be built to begin production of a new safer and economical semi trailer into the hands of a struggling trucking industry. The new manufacturing facility will bring a new future to the trucking industry and to this local community."

With plans to open operations for its revolutionary new JAX Series 33 foot trailer at its new proposed facility, Nimble Trailers will invest over $15 million in the building of this new state of the art manufacturing facility. It has committed not only to creating at least 188 new jobs but also the potential of creating an additional 439 positions over the next three years. Ninety percent of these jobs will come from local and surrounding areas of Longview, Washington. With the outlook being positive that the trucking industry will prefer the new JAX series 33 foot trailer over the 28 foot trailer when hauling multiple trailers. Nimble Trailers is estimating first year gross sales of over $78 million in 2016 and a estimated $413 million in gross sales at full capacity by 2019. Pre-sales have already begun and three companies are exploring taking delivery of trailers in 2016.

The new JAX Series trailer has procured an exclusive licensing agreement for the"QwikSlide" undercarriage specifically designed for the 33 foot trailer. This new technology allows the driver to slide the suspension and undercarriage back exposing a fifth wheel which allows the driver to easily attach an another trailer. Since the whole undercarriage slides back and forth on the frame of the trailer it greatly enhances safety to the 33 foot trailer reducing sway and possibility of jackknife of the trailer. It also utilizes a tandem axle technology to help reduce axle weight to reduce the impact of the nations highways and bridge infrastructure damage.. The cost of the trailer is comparable to most new trailer cost with a retail cost of $29,500 which includes the Qwikslide sliding converter dolly suspension technology. This saves trucking companies the additional expense of having to purchase an additional manual converter dolly saving trucking companies approximately $10,000 per trailer.

LTL trucking companies have been petitioning the Federal Government for over two years to make a law change allowing the 33 foot trailer available when hauling multiple trailers in all 50 states but currently available in 13 states. The change increases capacity by almost 18% over the two 28 foot trailers that are used today. Having passed the House and Senate the bill has stalled the law pending a study comparing safety between the 28 and 33 foot trailers by the DOT. The JAX series trailer has already been studied by the DOT and has shown to be a safer trailer since the integrated converter dolly built into the frame of trailer provides greater safety than that of the manual converter dolly in use today.

The transition of switching from 28 to 33 foot trailers has a huge impact within the trucking industry financially. According to Wessels "This is actually a green transition which is rarely seen in this industry. By switching from the 28 to 33 foot trailers the industry will save over 100 million gallons of fuel, reducing emissions of over 2 billion pounds of carbon, eliminates over 300,000 trucking trips and over 450 fewer accidents annually involving trucks will be accomplished with the change of this law. We are excited to have the DOT to include the JAX series trailer in its study when considering the new law change that will hopefully happen in 2016."

"Once the new plant is fully operational, we will be able to significantly expand our dry van manufacturing capabilities to include 48 and 53 foot trailers while increasing employment opportunities in the region," Nimble Trailer President of Manufacturing Todd Wessels said. "We sincerely appreciate the support and assistance by the state of Washington, Cowitz County and the city of Longview officials in helping this endeavor becoming reality."
