/24-7PressRelease/ - November 13, 2007 - Do you spend your nights in bed with your eyes open, tossing and turning, thinking about the day that's just been and worrying about what tomorrow will bring? Are you so worried about sleeping in in the morning that your brain is afraid to let you sleep? You may be, like countless others, suffering from insomnia.

According to Wikipedia, Insomnia is a sleeping disorder characterized by the inability to fall asleep and/or the inability to remain asleep for a reasonable amount of time. Insomniacs have been known to complain about being unable to close their eyes or "rest their mind" for more than a few minutes at a time. Both organic and non-organic insomnia constitute a sleeping disorder.

According to the US department of Health and Human Services, around sixty million Americans suffer from Insomnia each year. Insomnia tends to increase with age and affects about 40% of women and about 30% of men!

I have suffered from sleep disorder for many years and had never realised it was so common. Lying awake all night and not being able to function properly during the day due to fatigue. The stress that had kept me awake the night before was added to the next day by my irritability. I was rundown and miserable. It was affecting my family life and my relationship with my kids. I had to do something.

I thought of sleeping tablets but quickly ruled them out as an option as, although they would probably provide a temporary solution, I was afraid of becoming dependant on them. I spoke to my GP and he didn't offer any alternatives.

I was in despair when one evening, at a local function, I was speaking to a neighbour and he introduced me to Sleep Tracks, a series of CDs to help you sleep and to improve the quality of your sleep. I was sceptical but the situation was desperate. I brought them home, studied them and tried them out. It's a complete sleep optimization programme and boy, does it work. Its got to do with brainwaves and the electrical activity in your brain. I'm still not sure how it works but it works and I'm only sorry I didn't have access to it 20 years ago! I've had the most restful sleep now every night for the last couple of months and I've been able to stop using them. There is more detailed information on the CDs and what they do for you here http://www.drifttosleep.com and I highly recommend you have a look.

Well, it's getting late so until next time "Night Night"!
