North Carolina Engineering Firm Celebrates "Diamond" Anniversary with Local Baseball Flavor

The Wooten Company's diamond celebration continues with the Hickory Crawdads.

RALEIGH, NC, August 09, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Continuing with the "diamond" theme of its 75th anniversary, The Wooten Company is celebrating the milestone with a special event at the Hickory Crawdads baseball game on Friday, August 12, against the Kannapolis Intimidators. The event is the third baseball-related celebration at which the firm is including activities for local employees, clients and their families, while recognizing its achievements and its impact on the local community over the years.

One of the most reputable engineering, planning and architectural firms in North Carolina, The Wooten Company is commemorating its achievements over the past 75 years, including several in the Hickory/Asheboro area. Over the years, the firm has consulted on or engineered: wastewater treatment plant upgrade and new elevated storage tank at Granite Falls; wastewater system upgrades for the towns of Cajah's Mountain and Valdese; several design projects for the NC Zoo in Asheboro; wastewater and water treatment projects for the town of Asheboro; current work on the Asheboro Recycling Center and the Randolph Fellowship House; the new town hall at Rutherford College; the new water treatment plant at Spruce Pine; and new de-chlorination and acid neutralization units at the Appalachian State University's water treatment plant; as well as several other projects that have made a substantial impact in the local communities.

"This is the perfect opportunity to celebrate our accomplishments in the communities surrounding our Hickory and Asheboro offices," said Bucky Moore, president of The Wooten Company. "For 75 years, our firm has been serving the infrastructure needs of communities all over North Carolina, and we wanted to take time with our client and employee families here to share in these successes."

Earlier this summer, The Wooten Company held a similar event for clients, employees and their families of their Raleigh office at a Durham Bulls' game and another with the Kinston Indians for clients, employees and families of the firm's Greenville office. In addition, the firm will hold a commemorative picnic for all employees and families on October 3, The Wooten Company's actual birthday. They also held an invitation-only golf tournament in June for clients and employees to show its appreciation for the individuals and groups that contributed to firm's growth and success.

For the past 75 years, The Wooten Company has been dedicated to designing rural electric lines, water and sewer systems, building systems and community planning development projects all over the state of North Carolina. Their services include sanitary/environmental engineering, general civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, community planning, architecture, landscape architecture, and GIS/mapping services. In addition, The Wooten Company provides project financing assistance for local government projects and, since the early 1990s, has helped raise over a quarter of a billion dollars in funds for infrastructure improvements and community enhancements.
