Northrop & Johnson Powers Ahead with Abundant Yacht Sales in 2014

Outstanding yacht sales performance for luxury yacht brokerage this year

In 2015 we see the market strengthening, especially due to our new investments into marketing, brokers and new offices.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, December 15, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Yacht broker Northrop & Johnson has enjoyed excellent sales in 2014, with an outstanding 60 yachts sold between January and November in a resurgent market.

Yearly sales across the global superyacht fleet have now surpassed those of 2013, which was previously the most successful year for the industry since the financial crisis slowed the market in 2008. There have been 408 yacht sales over 78ft to date, a number which will rise to over 430 deals by the close of the year if December 2014 looks anything like December 2013. 2014 shows a fantastic 33% increase on last year's 306 yacht sales in the same size category.

Capitalizing on its strong yacht database throughout the year, the fall show season was a tremendous success for Northrop and Johnson, in particular at Fort Lauderdale Boat Show where N&J were proud to present the largest number of luxury superyachts of any brokerage in the world.

This impressive year puts Northrop & Johnson at the top of US-headquartered brokerages, and their new LA office is consolidating this reputation as market leader, making record-breaking sales in the very active US yacht market.

Next year, the global brokerage will extend its existing influence in the European market, with an office opening in Antibes in January 2015 and a groundbreaking focus on marketing and technology giving the company an innovative and powerful edge.

This is a very exciting development for Northrop & Johnson, as Chief Operating Officer Daniel Ziriakus points out.

"In 2015 we see the market strengthening, especially due to our new investments into marketing, brokers and new offices. We're poised to see N&J grow in Europe as we're running the top systems in the industry, making it easy for our brokers to do their job from a tablet anywhere in the world. Technology also allows us to curb traditional overheads and therefore invest into our sales people, support staff and marketing."

The successes of the N&J team over the past 12 months have generated a very positive outlook for sales and charter potential in 2015, and the brokerage looks forward to going from strength to strength for its clients in the New Year.

Every one of the yachts sold this year is a testament to the hard work of N&J brokers, management and crews, but there have been some notable sales this year that deserve a special mention.

2014 got off to a flying start with 18 yachts sold in the first 12 weeks, including the exciting signing of Royal Huisman 141'sailing yacht Sea Eagle.

The pace was set for the year and the summer months delivered, with MY Stellar, MY Ohana, MY Charade and MY Lady Sheila just a few of the yachts sold in the rush.

The final months of 2014 have rounded out a tremendous year for N&J, with the sales of iconic 210' Perini Navi Felicita West and 129' luxury explorer vessel, MY Safira- whose environmentally friendly engineering and stunning eco interior has made her a groundbreaker in her field.

Of course, the year is not quite over yet and N&J looks forward to sharing news of more successes in the coming weeks and consolidating their excellent position in the year ahead.
