WASHINGTON, DC, February 08, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- NOT ALONE (www.notalone.com), a 501c3 dedicated to reducing suicide rates among returning warriors and their families and increasing awareness and free, private, confidential treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), is proud to announce that their running team is complete and ready to participate in The Rock N' Roll USA Marathon in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, March 17, 2012. over 50 military spouses, warriors, family members and NOT ALONE supporters will lace up their shoes in order to raise awareness against these invisible war-related traumas our military families deal with on a daily basis.

Coming home from war is often just the start of the battle for our military veterans and their families. There are as many as 18 suicides per day among all U.S. veterans, and a veteran is 12 times more likely to die by his or her own hand after leaving the military than to be killed in action by an enemy combatant while on active duty. In addition, estimates show more than 300,000 veterans are suffering from PTSD, and 75% of these men and women will not receive adequate treatment. Combined with their parents, significant others and children, 1.5 million Americans are deeply affected by the aftermath of war.
