/24-7PressRelease/ -- The National Portable Storage Association (NPSA) has announced its 5th biannual Resale Expo May 3-5 in Santa Barbara, Calif. Industry leaders will gather to share best practices and cutting-edge strategies for thriving in a down economy.
"We know that this will be a difficult year. As a large focus for our membership is on the second hand market for shipping containers, we need to closely follow what is going on with the leasing companies, railroads, ports and steamship lines," said John Finnessy, CMP, Executive Director of the NPSA, a nonprofit membership association dedicated to the advancement of the portable storage industry.
As always, the Resale Expo will promote learning, business opportunities, networking and camaraderie amongst all participants. The NPSA's goal is to provide an eventful conference that presents pertinent educational programs and facilitates the exchange of ideas between members, sponsors and guests.
To that end, this year's event will answer questions about trends in customer equipment demands and how those trends impact repositioning and container fleet mixes, the cost of equipment imbalances and repositioning as the U.S. and world economies slow, the impact of consolidation and contraction on overall trade capacity, future shipping vessel capacities and how to ensure having enough equipment on hand when the economy recovers.
"Our event in Santa Barbara will focus on what happened in these industry segments over the last six months and forecasts for the remainder of 2009," he continued. "We will also have a highly respected economist speak on the general state of the U.S. economy and what to expect in the near term."
