NuPath, Inc. to Hold Annual 'Job Camp'

NuPath's Job Camp will help prepare developmentally disabled individuals to enter the workforce.

BOSTON, MA, September 17, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Beginning again this October, twenty individuals with developmental disabilities will be participating in 'Job Camp', a program designed by NuPath Inc. of Woburn, MA. Most of these students are insecure about their abilities to enter into, and thrive, in the workforce. Job Camp is designed to transform these insecurities into sparks of light, supporting each individual on their literal 'new' path within the world. NuPath worked on this program for an entire year to ensure that it was fully ready to implement. The management team has worked diligently to ensure that Job Camp includes all of the elements necessary for each individual to succeed. As a result, Job Camp has become a major success! Local financial consultant and volunteer instructor of the program, Bill Strazzullo, creates an interactive atmosphere where students learn and practice vital job skills. They learn how to create a resume, conduct a successful interview, the difference between personal and business relationships, and simple money management skills. Most importantly, these students gain an incredible amount of self-esteem and confidence, as they work toward graduating the Job Camp program, believing in themselves.

NuPath Inc., an innovative non-profit organization serving much of Middlesex County, supports individuals with disabilities as they embark on each of their unique journeys through the world. They lead these individuals towards achieving success on their own, within their own communities. Daniel Harrison, President and CEO of NuPath, says that his goal is "not to have these individuals participate in community activities, but rather to integrate them as direct members of their communities." With Job Camp as enrichment to the other services offered, participants are able to perform and grow into true professionals within their places of work. Job Camp provides its participants with expectations on how to conduct themselves professionally, allowing them to work flawlessly alongside existing employees and experience high levels of success. Through Job Camp's high success rate, which beats the national average, and having on average 50% of their students securing employment - NuPath strives to reduce the negative connotation with the phrase 'special needs.' The people in NuPath's program are 'special' for their tremendous qualities of strength, bravery and courage and are determined to meet the 'needs' of their employers.

NuPath welcomes collaborations with nearby companies that would like to team up, diversifying and strengthening their workforce even more. Instructor Strazzullo speaks of his students as "human lighthouses", and describes his opportunity instructing these inspiring students as "unparalleled." Reflecting on his past year, he often asks himself, "Am I teaching them, or are they teaching me?" Not only is Job Camp life-changing for its students, it is transformative for all involved. "Watching these students shine so brightly in environments that they are unfamiliar with is truly amazing and inspirational!" exclaims Strazzullo.
