Drs. Nichter and Horowitz, partners and owners of Pacific Center For Plastic Surgery, held their party in the lobby of their fourth floor Newport Beach offices. More than one hundred former patients and their friends/spouses/significant others attended. In addition to the guests, a number of vendors supplying the plastic surgery industry were there sharing information and displaying their products.
Eileen Asahi, marketing manager for Pacific Center For Plastic Surgery, explains, "We decided that this would be a great opportunity to spoil our guests and to show our former patients how much we appreciate them. We had a number of vendors showing their wares, gift bags, and held a raffle for jewelry, skincare products, Latisse for eyelash growth, and an Obagi blue peel for healthier, younger-looking skin. In our gift bags, we had makeup, coupons for discounts on skin care products and facials, vitamins, suncreen, a pen, and chocolate. The champagne was a big hit as well."
Suzanne, a former patient, comments, "I went to the party expecting many opportunities for snarkiness. Instead, I met a lot of "real" people with great stories. There were stories of massive weight-loss patients (most frequently gastric bypass patients) who came to the center hoping for a new start after losing a lot of weight. They had skin hanging off their bodies and undergoing plastic surgery provided them with a new beginning to their lives. There were women who had undergone masectomies due to breast cancer. The doctors performed breast reconstruction to help these brave survivors retain their sense of self. The doctors also work with trauma patients (car accidents and such) to help people return to their former lives."
