The Launch Event at the City Hall is being hosted by the Foundation's biggest supporter Peter Kay, who was quick to offer his services and ensuring that the evening will be a huge bowl of fun and laughter, as well as some great singing performances by Kavana, Kenny Thomas, Simon Webbe, Scott Anson and many more stars.
Using his extensive network of friends and contacts in the music industry, Eliot has planned this first concert, with music downloads, albums and singles featuring some of the biggest names in popular music including new, original songs specially written for the One Song Foundation to follow in the near future.
The proceeds from the sale of all products will go to the One Song Foundation Fund, managed by South Yorkshire Community Foundation, and will support specific projects which address the real issues in communities, helping the disadvantaged, the excluded and the isolated in society both in the UK and overseas.
The Foundation will support individual projects from charities far and wide. In this way, people donating through downloading music or buying merchandise or attending One Song Events, will be able to see exactly what their money is being spent on, rather than it going into a pot made up of admin, salaries and other non-frontline activities.
