BOCA RATON, FL, July 10, 2009
/24-7PressRelease/ -- Construction at One Thousand Ocean is entering the final push toward completion, yet the seven-story, curvilinear building has already become a distinctive landmark on the private peninsula bordering the Boca Raton Inlet.
Since the structure's topping off in December 2008, substantial progress has been made, including the addition of roofing, windows, glass doors and stucco.
"This is an important milestone for any building, but for projects in South Florida, getting the 'envelope' closed up before the start of summer and the tropical storm season is an even more essential plateau to reach," said Jamie Telchin, president of development for LXR Luxury Resorts & Hotels. "This allows for finishing of the interiors of the residences with drywall and marble flooring.
Inside as well, the elevators are operational and the lobby and amenity spaces are progressing on schedule.
"We are close to our next big milestone, which is turning on the air conditioning!" commented a happy Telchin. "This will enable us to start on the home stretch of the project - getting those final, finishing phases underway that are both humidity and temperature sensitive (i.e., installing cabinets, interior doors and wood trim).
The large cranes left the site in late April and next the scaffolding on the north side of the building that overlooks the adjacent Beach Club hotel pool and cabanas will be coming down.
Speaking of cabanas, the cabanas at One Thousand Ocean are nearly completed, and the pool, spa and pool deck along the ocean side of the building are next on the horizon. After that, the work will continue around the south side of the property as the construction team shifts focus to the front entrance. There, all the trellises will be installed, and the installation of the entry canopy at the porte-cochere will commence.
If there's a mild storm season this summer and fall, the building should be completed near the end of 2009.
That's not the only good news for future residents of One Thousand Ocean. With the transformation of the Resort's Beach Club complete, the remodeled oasis at the edge of the Atlantic is a welcomed neighbor. It will be specially convenient for residents to access this outstanding amenity as well as the other world-class offerings at the main Resort location just across the Intracoastal.
Because of One Thousand Ocean's stellar location, spacious floor plans, high-level appointments and a quintessential resort lifestyle for residents who want it, One Thousand Ocean provides a rare opportunity for oceanfront living for 52 select buyers. Telchin noted that there are executed contracts on more than half of the residences. "A project directly on the ocean and adjacent to the Resort seems to be the outlier to an otherwise challenging real estate market," he said. "We continue to experience remarkable success."
At One Thousand Ocean, one- and two-story Beach Villas harmoniously blend with Residences and Penthouses that average 4,000 square feet, plus private terraces averaging 1,200 square feet. Prices range from $2.75 million to over $15 million. Among the residential features are private elevator landings, floor-to-ceiling glass, fireplaces, terraces with private plunge pools and outdoor kitchens, as well as private two-car garages.
