SAN RAFAEL, CA, October 04, 2011
/24-7PressRelease/ -- "The chances of an African-America single woman marrying a quality man of her race are slim," says author Deborrah Cooper, citing a recent study by Best Black Dating Sites. "Only 3% of unmarried black men meet the following criteria:
• Heterosexual
• Good looking
• Successful (earn at least $30,000 a year)
• Childless
• Have not been in jail
• Have a high school diploma."
Deborrah Cooper will suggest that a black woman consider broadening her dating horizons to include men outside her own race during her Keynote Address at America's First Interracial Dating Convention, Friday, October 14, 2011, at the Marriott San Francisco Airport, 1770 S Amphlett Blvd, San Mateo CA 94402.
Ms Cooper will also reveal:
• The pros and cons of Interracial Dating
• Dating and racial stereotypes, such as "Asian Women are Submissive" or "Black men are sexual studs"
• How U.S. media negatively impacts the romantic options of women of color
• Why Black/White interracial relationships are the most fraught with tension
• How and why Black churches keep African-American women single
"Black women have a great deal of fear associated with interracial relationships. Much of it revolves around being accepted. There may also be concerns about motivation," says Ms. Cooper. "In reality, interracial dating is neither superior nor inferior to dating within your own race; there are advantages and disadvantages, as well as special challenges to each. People who exclusively date a different race usually have a fetish for that race, which is no less foolish than refusing to date a particular race because of unfair stereotypes."
