Orange County, California Welcomes the 11th Annual Ms. America Pageant

The Curtis Theater in Brea will proudly host the Ms. America Pageant on Saturday, August 29th, 2015 where contestants from across the nation will compete for the crown.



    ORANGE COUNTY, CA, August 13, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Ms. America Pageant is proud to announce that contestants from across the United States will compete for the coveted title of Ms. America 2016 on Saturday, August 29th, 2015. The Curtis Theater in Brea, California will host the much anticipated event, while live Streaming of the pageant will be featured on Alert The Globe beginning at 7:30 pm PST here: www.AlertTheGlobe.com.

The Ms. America Pageant "Empowers Women Across The Nation" who are 26 years of age and up single, divorced or married who have a dedicated platform or cause that they are an advocate for. The pageant is comprised of four areas of competition including Evening Gown, Interview, Sportswear and Finalist On-Stage Question. Each of these areas are worth up to 25% of each contestants total score. The winner receives the coveted title of Ms. America 2016 and the "Crown for a Purpose" giving her the opportunity to make a difference with her celebrity status.

Optional Titles awarded at this year's pageant will include Ms. America International 2016 for women 40 years of age and up, as well as Ms. International 2016 which is the "Judges and People's Choice" Award.

Scott Stewart, host and producer of the TV show "What's Up Orange County", featuring celebrity news, local hot spots, and nightlife will once again emcee this highly anticipated event.

The public can meet the contestants on Friday August 28th at the Pirate Dinner Adventure in Buena Park, CA from 6:30 - 9:00 pm at 7600 Beach Boulevard, Buena Park, CA 90620. The Contestants will participate in a school supply fundraiser hosted by I-Matter Foundation where they will bring school supplies that will be distributed to students in need within the Orange County area. Tickets are $36.00/per person which includes tax and gratuity and school supply donations are being accepted at the door. Reigning titleholder Ms. America 2014-15 is Stephanie Mills of New Hampshire, who is a Chiropractor. Ms. America International 2014-15 is Laura Hunter of Seattle, Washington who is a photographer, model and actress. Ms. International 2014-15 is Riti Chikkerur of Austin, Texas who owns an oil company. As their reign comes to an end, they are proud to reflect on a year of dedicated service which has included appearances and involvement with a variety of charitable organizations, community awareness events, red carpet affairs, and so much more!

Susan Jeske of Orange County, California is the CEO of the MS. America Pageant. Susan's experience spans over 35 years in the beauty industry and includes her title as the first Ms. America in 1997 where she was crowned at the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada besting 50 other contestants. Her platform was "Students Against Violence" and she went on to make over 150 presentations to schools across the country during her reign. Susan is also known for holding the Guinness Book of World Record title for singing the National Anthem at the most events in a 24 hour period and she has sung the National Anthem for 7 different Presidents of the United States of America. She is also the proud recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award from the President of the United States for her impactful volunteer service.

Richard Simon from Houston, Texas founded The Ms. America Pageant in 1997. The first pageant was held on December 4th, 1997 at the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. Contestants competed representing their respective state in the inaugural pageant. Susan Jeske from Colorado was crowned the first Ms. America , winning $75,000 in cash and prizes. Ms. Jeske became the owner of the pageant in 1999.
