ORLANDO, FL, October 08, 2008
/24-7PressRelease/ -- KICKgen.com, the fast-growing online community for martial arts aficionados, and a client of the UCF Technology Incubation program in Orlando, has launched a sophisticated new feature: live streaming of martial arts demonstrations by some of the world's most renowned instructors.
Tracy McCoy, chief operating officer at KICKgen.com, said the web community recently live-streamed an open forum on hand combos, patterns, intros, and bowing in---a critical tournament skill---by Sammy Vazquez, instructor at Orlando's Ki Martial Arts Studio.
McCoy said she thinks KICKgen.com's live stream and chat forum are a worldwide first for martial arts communities. KICKgen.com adapted Mogulus as a home page feature when streaming live.
"This technology is as sophisticated as Skype, with more bells and whistles and is engineered to accommodate unlimited simultaneous downloads, so we can live-stream major martial arts events and teaching programs worldwide with a professional quality equal to major national TV networks," said McCoy.
Anyone can view KICKgen.com's live-stream broadcasts and a wide selection of archive videos by visiting KICKgen.com and clicking the video player's start button.
McCoy said KICKgen.com registered users---who include martial arts students all across the country---can participate in their own online seminars while instructional events are live-streamed.
"Members can view KICKgen.com's live stream and use the KICKgen.com member chat tool concurrently," McCoy said.
"We envision live-streaming martial arts demonstrations by the world's best-known instructors, with an audience of hundreds of thousands viewing in real time and simultaneously blogging or chatting with fellow martial artists." McCoy said.
KICKgen.com may rank as the world's fastest growing martial arts community, McCoy said. The site counts more than 2,000 registered members in just under a year, including superstar Tyler Weaver, Jr., the 12-year old phenom whose three-year career has excited martial arts enthusiasts worldwide and earned him a recent featured guest appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show.
Weaver earned the ISKA World Title for Black Belt Event Skills in his age group (13 years and younger) this summer in Orlando. KICKgen.com live-streamed that event for ESPN.
