SHEFFIELD, UK, September 24, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Oxley & Coward Solicitors have assisted Beanies wholefoods co-operative of Sheffield, with the legal support necessary to cement a lease for the old bakery on Cat Lane, Heeley. The bakery was previously idle for a couple of years, but Beanies has now moved in and has been trialling its Sheffield organic bread recipes over the past few weeks.

Matt West of Beanies says the move to lease the bakery building was driven mainly by frustration at not being able to source organic bread locally. "Our customers demand fresh organic produce and there was simply nobody producing fresh organic bread in Sheffield, so we decided to give it a go ourselves.

"One of our staff, Becky, expressed an interest in getting involved as she is a keen home-baker. She has been working on several recipes for around three weeks now, trying them out on our regulars who give us all the feedback we need to refine the recipes where necessary. We've been taking it one step at a time but the results are encouraging and we feel we are fairly close to having a product that we can shout about. Becky's Focaccias, Ciabattas and French natural yeast breads are already going down well and may prove to be best sellers."

For those who aren't regulars at the Crookes Valley Road shop, there is a chance to pick up some of the new organic bread from Beanies' stall at Nether Edge food market on Sunday 27 September.

Liz Harris of Oxley and Coward's Commercial team handled all the legals for Beanies. She said:
"Small businesses may try and avoid unnecessary legal costs which is understandable, especially in the current economic climate. However, with something as important as a lease on new premises, you really need to know what you are signing. The costs associated with sorting out small business matters of this nature are tiny when compared with the worst case scenario of getting into a contract that later proves to be a financial burden on the business. You can find out whether we are able to help your business, at no obligation, by simply giving us a call."
