Brazilian Butt Lift is more holistic approach to butt augmentation as it enhances and sculpts the buttocks with your own fat, as oppose to implants.

TAMPA, FL, April 07, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Michael Van Vliet, MD, FACS, a board-certified plastic surgeon and medical director at Palm Aesthetics Plastic Surgery Center in Lakewood Ranch, FL, introduces the Brazilian Butt Lift, a butt enhancement procedure that involves transfer of fat from other areas of the body. Previously, the only option for butt enhancement was through implantation of prosthesis. Dr. Van Vliet is excited to be able to augment and reshape the buttocks, while improving the overall body contour, with fat transfer procedure.

"Brazilian Butt Lift is more holistic approach to butt augmentation as it enhances and sculpts the buttocks with your own fat, as oppose to implants. Fat transfer allows for a more natural look and feel and there is less chance of infection or rejection," said Dr. Van Vliet. "It's a much safer procedure over the use of implants, and helps improve overall body contour as we harvest fat from other areas of the body." Dr. Van Vliet offers helpful tips to anyone contemplating on undergoing Brazilian Butt Lift to achieve the desirable hourglass figure.

Butt Augmentation: Brazilian Butt Lift vs Butt Implants

Butt Implants
The traditional Butt Implants augmentation procedure starts with the surgeon making an incision in the crease between the buttocks and the thigh or in the top of the crease between the buttocks. Pockets are created on both sides of the buttocks to hold the implants and placed above or below the gluteus maximus muscle. Then, the implants are placed within the pockets and incisions are closed sutures. Drains are placed to allow for blood and fluids to escape within the first week of surgery. The risks or complications resulting from implants include displacement or movement of implants, fluid accumulation and capsular contracture.

Butt implants results are not permanent. Also, patients are advised to undergo implant replacement procedure about 8-12 years after the first procedure. Overall, the final look and feel of butt augmentation with implants is far less natural than results obtained through fat transfer.

Brazilian Butt Lift (Butt Augmentation through Fat Transfer)
Brazilian Butt Lift procedure uses your own natural fat to give your butt a perkier, fuller and more sculpted look. Patients should have sufficient fat in other areas of the body to harvest, commonly the abdomen, thighs and flanks and back. Using liposuction and cannula tool, fat is harvested, purified and injected into the fatty and muscle layers of the gluteal area to enhance, contour and achieve desired shape.

Brazilian Butt Lift is considered a much safer butt augmentation procedure than a traditional Butt Lift procedure compared to Butt Implants. However, fat transfer procedures are limited by the survival of the fat. Some transferred fat cells do not survive and are reabsorbed and flushed by the body's immune system, limiting the amount of volume possible in a single procedure. It is not rare for patients to undergo follow up fat transfer procedure to achieve desired results that a patient seeks.

The final results with Brazilian Butt Lift are superior to implants, with more natural look and feel. Additionally, with fat transfer, there are no risks of capsular conjecture or implant rupture and there is no need to a future follow-up surgery to replace or remove implants.

"We collect fat from the abdomen and flanks, which help improve the body's contour," said Dr. Van Vliet. "It is remarkable how this additional procedure of fat transfer makes all the difference in the way a woman's body contour improves." Dr. Van Vliet offers Brazilian Butt Lift procedure to women seeking butt augmentation or other enhancement procedures in Lakewood Ranch and neighboring Sarasota areas.
