"A healthy, brilliant smile can be yours with fewer visits and with fewer appointments," comments Dr. Eric Wu of Wu Orthodontics. "Non-invasive, non-extraction orthodontic treatment means less discomfort and less time."

PALO ALTO, CA, March 28, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- More than ever before, time impacts what we do and when we do it. And that's particularly true when it comes to orthodontic treatment. At Wu Orthodontics we want you to start enjoying your new smiles as soon as possible without being weighed down by lengthy treatment and outdated technology.

The Big Question is WHY

Why would you want braces in the first place? There are certainly many reasons, but some of the most common include A more attractive smile, reduced appearance-consciousness during critical development years, better function of the teeth, increase in self-confidence increased ability to clean the teeth improved force distribution and wear patterns of the teeth, better long term health of teeth and gums, guides permanent teeth into more favorable positions, braces reduce the risk of injury to protruded front teeth and finally braces aid in optimizing other dental treatment you may need.

At Wu Orthodontics, the difference in our orthodontic office is our commitment to providing non-invasive, non-extraction orthodontic treatment. Dr. Eric Wu offers both Damon System Braces and Invisalign Clear Braces as alternatives to straightening teeth that is faster and more comfortable than traditional orthodontic braces! Both methods often don't require tooth extractions and that means that you're able to experience less pain, have fewer office visits, and quicker appointments, not to mention more time enjoying their new smile!

The Earlier the Better

It's in an individual's best interest to initiate orthodontic treatment as early as possible. That's why Dr. Wu uses Phase I and Phase II treatment methodologies. What is Phase I and Phase II treatment? Phase I, or early interceptive treatment, is limited orthodontic treatment before all of the permanent teeth have erupted. Such treatment can occur between the ages of six and ten. This treatment is sometimes recommended to make more space for developing teeth, correction of cross-bites, overbites, under-bites, or harmful oral habits.

Phase II treatment is also called comprehensive treatment because it involves full braces when all of the permanent teeth have erupted, usually between the ages of eleven and thirteen. We limit early treatment to situations where it truly matters and where it can make a difference to overall treatment outcomes. But don't worry. You'll be happy to know that over 25% of our patients at Wu Orthodontics are adults. Which means you can enjoy a healthy smile at any age!

The Damon System

The Damon System offers self-ligating, low friction, light force orthodontics for Dr. Wu's patients. Choose Damon System braces for your orthodontic treatment! Damon System braces mean less friction, less pain, and more time spent smiling! Damon braces provide a safe, clean, quick and effective way to treat orthodontic patients. With Damon braces you can experience the benefits of a straighter smile in less time than with traditional metal braces and with more comfort.

Invisalign and Invisalign Teen

Invisalign uses a series of customized, clear aligners to straighten teeth in a quicker amount of time and with fewer office visits than traditional braces. Thousands of orthodontists in the United States and Canada use Invisalign braces to accurately and effectively treat their patients. Additionally, your Invisalign aligners are customized to fit your mouth. Dr. Wu uses advanced 3-D computer imaging technology to replicate an exact impression of your mouth and teeth, then he customizes each aligner so that it fits your mouth, and over time moves your teeth into the proper position.
