/24-7PressRelease.com/ - March 11, 2005 - DALLAS, TX—A new chic restaurant opens in Dallas. Pandora shatters the mold with its sinfully delicious Japanese-inspired cuisine and provocative interior decor. Pandora will caress the senses and capture the diner's heart. Ideal for the culinary avant-garde, the dining, robata grill, sushi bar and upstairs sake lounge offer patrons unique sensations that will keep them coming back again and again.

Pandora's concept is the fusion of traditional Japanese simplicity with modern urbanism, offering spacious dining comfortably seating 155 with an intimate second floor lounge for before or after dinner. Pricing is moderate with appetizers starting at $4.00 to $10.00. Main entrees are priced between $20.00 to $50.00. Capitalizing on the growing downtown business and residential community, Pandora is conveniently located at the intersection of Main and Central Expressway; 2208 Main Street, Suite A.

Entering into Pandora, your eyes are greeted by bamboo stems jutting out from the floor and penetrating the ceiling, gently cascading water falls from a granite slate wall flowing into a small bubbling pool of water, bare veneered tables that hold small, slender budding bamboo shoots in water-filled, glass vases and high-backed booths shaped as a half moon for privacy seekers. A sensory extravaganza of sight and smell, and the sound of rhythmic beats playing in the background, is what you will find at Pandora along with over 100 aromatic herbs and spices that pervade Pandora's menu.

Executive chefs Ke'o Velasquez and Jessica Brumleve bring tremendous experience and creativity to Pandora's menu combining the flavors of Asia and France. Each dish is unique and prepared to tantalize the palette. Velasquez is an award-winning chef and has appeared on the TV Food Network. Most recently, he was the consultant chef at a top restaurant in Sydney, Australia. In Dallas, he worked with Stephen Pyles and Jeff Moschetti at Dragonfly, where he created several signature specialties. Jessica comes to Pandora from Chicago where her creative skills were put to work at Everest, one of Chicago's top 5-star restaurants. Their vision of truly delicious dishes can be seen in Pandora's one-of-a kind menu.

Bowls of ginger, togarashi, cloves and anise perfume the air and preview what is to come: miso soup with slices of shitake mushrooms, then crab salad with orange carpachio and seaweed; peppered scallops with taro mousee and pico de gallo; hoisin duck with togarashi nachos and caramelized leeks; Thai lobster shooters; Kobe filet with taro neufs, braised cabbage and pink peppercorn demi; tuna steak with israeli couscous and spicy coconut nage; stuffed shrimp with somen salad, vegetable stir-fry and sweet and sour sauce; marinated flank steak with roasted mushrooms, fried onions and truffle aioli are but just a few if Pandora's menu items. The robata grill, which Pandora boasts is the largest in Dallas, offers seared shrimp, beef, scallops and chicken and a medley of fresh vegetables. The sushi and sashimi is fresh and succulent.

The plate presentations are captivating, the wine list is distinguished, the sake selection is the largest in Dallas, and with desserts like gingered mango soup with kafir coconut anglaise and lychee tapioca, 5 spiced poached pear with sambuca cream and chocolate coffee beans, trio of brulee; orange, ginger chocolate and red bean, Pandora truly engages your senses.

The second floor sake lounge is a unique feature that adds to Pandora's ambiance. Burnt red walls, comfortable sofas of rich textured cloth and leather provide an intimate setting for sipping martinis and sake. Every night, a live DJ spins the latest sounds and after 11:00 PM the entire restaurant transforms into a two-story lounge. For late-night diners, the sushi bar and robata grill is open until 1:00 AM—perfect for after the opera, musical or symphony.
