Pardee Homes Marks 2014 with Annual Holiday Giving Campaign

Homebuilder's community outreach helps bring good cheer to Southern California & Las Vegas families in need.

LOS ANGELES, CA, December 31, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Pardee Homes upheld its annual tradition this holiday season, making the holiday season brighter for the less fortunate. Initiated in 2002, the Holiday Giving campaign reaches out in all of the homebuilder's regional divisions. In each, employees decided where to put available dollars. Many plumped up the kitty from their own pockets and devoted after-hours time to "elf work," as they bought, wrapped and delivered gifts and helped create holiday celebrations.

"Pardee Homes has been known for generous community outreach for many years, and Holiday Giving holds a special place with our employees," said Executive Vice President Jon Lash. "Our community work goes on year around, and lending a hand is especially meaningful to us during the holiday season."

Holiday Giving benefits the temporarily homeless, families in crisis, physically or mentally challenged children, and others identified by Pardee's regional offices. Recipients in the 2014 campaign included:

Los Angeles/Ventura Counties -- Camarillo's RAIN Transitional Living Center (RAIN TLC), a Ventura County facility for homeless families and single adults, has been part of Holiday Giving since inception. In addition to the Holiday Party with Santa Claus, complete with gifts for every resident, Pardee Homes presented a check for $2,500 to RAIN this year. www.raincommunities.org.

Also receiving help from Pardee in this region was Santa Clarita's Carousel Ranch, which provides therapeutic riding programs for disabled children. See www.carouselranch.org.

Inland Empire -- Olive Crest Children's Ranch in Perris, a HomeAid shelter, strives to keep families together through child abuse prevention and parent education. Pardee Homes provided complete bedding sets and additional special gifts and surprises for the 24 at-risk teens in residence. "Pardee Homes has become part of the Olive Crest family," said Pam Griffith, Community Involvement Coordinator for Olive Crest-Inland Empire. See www.homeaid.org and www.olivecrest.org.

San Diego -- Holiday recipients this year included the BIA Cares Holiday Bike Drive, an annual fundraise of the Building Industry Association (BIA). Pardee Homes San Diego division donated $750 and 10 bicycles and helmets to this year's drive. The San Diego division also donated $1,250 to HomeAid San Diego's Home Start Maternity Shelter #3 and to its Thrift Store; both facilities were completed this year. Also a recipient of the division's holiday funds is the Warrior Foundation's Freedom Station, a support center for San Diego veterans who are medically retired; the center offers services for the transition back into civilian life.

Las Vegas -- The Shade Tree shelter for women and children in crisis again received supplies, gifts and gift cards from Pardee Homes, which has assisted Shade Tree for 20 years. The emergency shelter for women and children offers a victim services center, job skills development, housing placement help, mental health coordination, free health clinic, children's activity center and Noah's Animal House for family pets from abusive households.
