/24-7PressRelease/ - MIAMI, FL, February 09, 2008 - Because most people do not know about Parental Alienation until they experience it, parental alienation awareness was put forth to help raise awareness and education about this growing problem.

The mission of PAAO is to help the public and professionals become aware of certain behaviors, often seen in the context of divorce, which can damage the parent-child relationship.

Such behaviors as speaking negatively about a parent to a child, interfering with communication between a parent and child, and sharing inappropriate information, such as details of the marriage and divorce with a child, have the potential to leave children confused, angry, and frightened. Most mental health professionals agree that this is a form of emotional abuse.

One of PAAO's activities involves requesting our state governors to issue proclamations declaring April 25th, as Parental Alienation Awareness Day. We are pleased that the states of Florida, Indiana, Connecticut, Montana, Kentucky, Iowa, Maine, Nevada, and Nebraska have issued either proclamations or recognitions of that date.

"We are calling on our United States residents to request proclamations from their governors so that everyone in every state will be made aware of the pain and damage parental alienation behaviors can do to our children and families," states Sarvy Emo, President and co-founder of Parental Alienation Awareness Organization.

PAAO is planning a 24 hour webinar on April 25th, with well recognized experts on Parental Alienation, as well as coordinating events in many areas both nationally and internationally.

"We are looking to make Parental Alienation part of the public vocabulary. Its behaviors and effects must be understood so that we can address solutions to these situations," adds Robin Denison, Vice President and co-founder of Parental Alienation Awareness Organization.

PAAO is striving to make 2008 the year that all children will be able to give and receive all of the love they deserve.
